Position Title: Police Officer
Department: Village of Elk Rapids Police Department
Position Type: Full Time, Union, Non-Exempt
Compensation: Currently $19.19 per hour minimum starting salary with step increases. New Collective Bargaining Agreement pending. The Village provides excellent employee benefits including but not limited to health & dental care, life insurance, and retirement plans.
Qualifications for Employment
- Applicants must be US Citizens, 21 years of age, and have or maintain a Michigan Operator’s License at time of employment
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field
- Law Enforcement experience preferred
- Must not have conviction of felony or any crime questioning honesty or credibility
- Must meet requirements established by MCOLES to be certified as a police officer in the State of Michigan
- Possess a valid CPR/AED certification and First-Aid or Emergency First Responder or higher certification in medical care
