Police Officer Available for the Village of Romeo

The Village of Romeo is accepting applications for the position of full-time Police Officer. The starting salary is $42,868.80, with full wages ($65,769.60) achieved after 4 years of employment. Shift premiums, sick and vacation time, medical and health insurance, and pension are all contracted with POAM.

The deadline for officers to apply is December 2, 2023.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 21 years of age.
  • Legally employable in the United States.
  • No criminal convictions.
  • Valid State of Michigan Driver’s License.
  • Must meet all MCOLES employment standards.
  • All candidates must pass a background investigation, physical and psychological exams, and drug screening.
  • Certified or able to be certified as a Michigan Law Enforcement Officer.

Applicants must also meet one of the following education requirements:

    • Bachelor’s Degree.
    • Associate’s Degree with a concentration in Criminal Justice.
    • High School Diploma or G.E.D Certificate with a minimum of two consecutive years of employment in one location as a certified police officer.
    • Four years active military service with Honorable Discharge.
