The Columbia Township Police Department is accepting applications for the position of a full-time police officer. The department prides itself as a progressive agency in southeastern Jackson County, with a population of approximately 7,400 full-time residents. In addition to policing the immediate area, the department has contracted police services with the village of Cement City and the Columbia School District. The department currently consists of four marked patrol vehicles that are properly maintained and replaced regularly. All Columbia Township Police officers are equipped with the necessary equipment needed to properly perform their duties and updated technology, the necessary training, and improvements. The compensation for this position begins at $26.61/hour.

REQUIREMENTS
Interested applicants for the Columbia Township Police officer position must meet the following requirements:
- Be a US Citizen
- Pass a comprehensive background investigation.
- Possess a valid operator’s license.
- Pass normal hearing/physical/vision drug tests as defined by MCOLES Standards
- Must be MCOLES licensed or eligible for licensing when the application is filed.
