Police Officer for the Village of Akron
Requirements include:
- Must be MCOLES Certified at the time of applying.
- Must possess knowledge and experience in modern police practices, investigation skills, and skill in crime prevention.
- Must have strong skills in both oral and written communication along with skills in community relations.
- Be fiscally responsible with skills and knowledge in budget preparation and control.
The Police Department has the responsibility to provide police services to the 400 residents of the Village of Akron, the 560 residents of the Village of Fairgrove, and1800 residents of the Township of Fairgrove. The department covers 36 square miles in the northern area of Tuscola County. The Police Department works closely with the Fire Departments of both Villages and the Boards of the Village of Akron and the Township of Fairgrove.
