Election Results of 2022 POAM Candidates

POAM asks candidates and incumbents to fill out a questionnaire and be available for an interview if necessary. Then, we look at past records of supporting law enforcement issues and employees’ rights. Both parties are considered equally, and if they are good for our members, they can earn our endorsement. Not all candidates in every district are endorsed. Membership feedback is very important; several candidates were brought to our attention by our membership. And several of those won. Please keep us informed of candidates you believe will benefit us. It’s appreciated and helpful for election season.

In the Michigan State House of Representatives, POAM endorsed 66 Candidates for the house. Of the 66 endorsed candidates, 27 were Democrats, and 39 were Republicans. Of the total endorsements, 59 of the POAM-endorsed candidates won.

In the Michigan State Senate, POAM endorsed 29 candidates for the senate. Of the 29 candidates, 11 were Democrats, and 18 were Republicans. Of the total endorsements, 27 of the endorsed candidates won. This is a good percentage, about 93%.
