This 2.5 hour workshop is a must for anyone who wants to learn how to effectively chair a union or small group meeting. Participants will learn the basics of Robert’s Rules of Order and how to apply them.
Discharge and Discipline Workshop

In today’s increasingly inequitable society, job loss can be one of the quickest roads into poverty for American workers. Saving a worker’s livelihood from unjust discipline or discharge is one of the single most important protections a union can provide.
Our five-hour, hands-on Discharge and Discipline workshop will provide an in-depth examination of ‘just cause’ principles as well as discuss how those principles are applied in today’s challenging employment environment. This workshop is a must for front-line union representatives, as well as for anyone concerned with the reciprocal responsibilities between workers and management in the unionized sector.
Family Medical Leave Act

In this 2.5 hour Workshop workers will learn who is eligible, what absences are covered under the Act, and what notifications are needed to activate this law’s protections. This is a great workshop for anyone interested in learning more about the FMLA.
Rights and Roles of Union Representatives
When: Saturday February 22, 2014
Time: 9:30AM – 12:00 noon
Where: 116 State Hall, WSU Main Campus
Fee: $40.00
This 2.5 hour introductory Workshop reviews the basic legal rights and protections afforded to the Union Representative as well as the skills needed to successfully meet their representational duties. If you are thinking about taking on union responsibilities for the first time, this is a good place to start.
