Department of The Attorney General Law Enforcement Training

[Updated: 7/05/23] The State of Michigan Attorney General’s Office is hosting 3 free educational training events, “Conducting Abuse & Neglect Investigations.” This training allows law enforcement officials to learn how to effectively investigate abuse and neglect complaints in residential care settings such as nursing homes, adult foster care homes, and more. Attendees will learn how to identify signs of possible criminal abuse, the proper methods of evidence gathering, the regulatory framework, applicable legal tools and offenses, and more to address these complaints. Attorney General Dana Nessel will be a guest speaker at the first of the three “Conducting Abuse & Neglect Investigations” events.
