Lansing Police Sgt. Scott Schuelke (Ret.) and Autism Alliance of Michigan member Stacie Rulison want to make the world for those with autism safer. As part of that mission, they are holding training sessions for law enforcement agents, firefighters and EMS workers to learn safety strategies for interacting with people suffering from autism. During the sessions, participants will learn about the disease itself, it’s characteristics, how to recognize a person with autism and several other tactics. The sessions will be held at the Oakland University Center for Autism Research, Education and Support.

If you are interested in attending the sessions, please refer to the flyer below. If you have any questions, please call the OUCARES at (248) 370-2424 or email them oucares@oakland.edu.
