An off-duty officer was talking on the phone just outside of the pharmacy where he worked part-time when a man aggressively approached him and demanded that he give him the phone. The officer refused, at which point the suspect waved a handgun at the officer. The suspect attempted to shoot at the officer as he ran into the pharmacy, but the gun jammed. The off-duty officer grabbed his own weapon and fired a single shot that struck the suspect in the face, according to Detroit Police Sgt. Michael Woody. Last scene, the suspect was in serious condition.
