The Bay City Police patrol union has voted to change its name to the Bay City Police Officers Association, which got the ball rolling for the transition into the POAM union. Contract negotiations between Bay City and the patrol union have stalled since the union attempted to switch to POAM from the Fraternal Order of Police. FOP has five days to appeal the vote or the name change will become official in two weeks when the union with hire POAM.
