POAM’s Executive Board welcomes Corporal Allen Cox, President of the Wayne County Deputy Sheriff’s Association (WCDSA), as its newest board member.

In January 2022, Corporal Cox began serving as the newly elected president of the WCDSA, due to his ability and leadership skills. He also served two terms as the 2nd Vice President of WCDSA. In February 2022, Cox was selected to join the union’s Executive Board. Cox’s dedication to his membership and to POAM hasn’t gone unnoticed.

Cox is a graduate of Alabama State University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice, and a graduate student at the University of Detroit Mercy seeking a Master of Arts in Criminal Justice. Cox is also a graduate of both the Wayne State University Labor School as well as the Wayne State University Advanced Labor School. He currently serves as a full-time employee of the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office with over 25 years of dedicated service.

Allen Cox has served the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office as a certified and non-certified deputy, narcotics enforcement officer, undercover narcotics investigator, deed fraud investigator, special operations unit member, and worked in many other capacities in all 3 jails and Wayne County Court Services.
