Christmas Card Blog Photo

(***NOTE: 12/22/11 POAM received an e-mail this morning stating that all the cards collected have now been sent to the  young man and to please not send any additional ones. They–and we!–thank you for all your help.***)

‘Tis the season of giving, which is why one terminally ill 13-year-old boy from Brighton, MI is doing everything he can to help out someone he can identify with.

When the Brighton boy heard news about 12-year-old Joey Caretti–who is also terminally ill–asking for Christmas cards, he went to work to ensure that the young man received as many as possible. Using money from his grandmother, the 13-year-old purchased cards and postage and has been taking them to police and fire stations to have a Trooper, Officer or Firefighter sign one for the boy.

We are urging you to take a few minutes out of your day to send young Joey a card for Christmas. Those of us at POAM want to help him have the best Christmas he can, and we know these cards will help.

All cards can be sent to the following address:

Joey Caretti
C/O 22671 Eddy Dr.
Macomb, MI 48044

We wish everyone, and especially Joey, a very happy holiday season!
