In March, we wrote about a controversial law that the Indiana House of Representatives passed which lays out when it is acceptable to resist a law enforcement agent. That law–Indiana State Law, SEA 1 / Right to Defend Against Unlawful Entry–was recently signed into law by Indiana Gov. Mitchell E. Daniels. And while it doesn’t directly affect Michigan police in any way, it can affect them indirectly by setting the stage for the passage of similar legislation across the country. Below is a letter written by POAM Vice President Harry Valentine to Gov. Daniels expressing his “sadness and concern” over the legislature. Please take a few minutes to read his letter and tell us what you think about the legislation in the comments.
