Officers Cleared After Rapid, Life-Saving Response

The POAM is extremely pleased that the Genesee County Prosecutor has cleared the officers of any wrongdoing in the serious incident they were involved in on September 28, 2025, in Grand Blanc Township. POAM represents the Grand Blanc Township police officers, and its secretary is a Grand Blanc city police officer.

As we recall, an evil person, after ramming his truck into the entrance of the church during its service, entered and began shooting at the parishioners, and set the building on fire. Several were killed, and many others were wounded.

The officer was less than a mile away when he received the call and immediately retrieved his patrol rifle. When he arrived, the perpetrator was at the rear of the building, shooting people as they fled. The officer, after giving loud commands, was forced to terminate the threat. The perpetrator was neutralized within four minutes of the first 911 call. His quick response saved countless innocent lives that day.

Representatives of the POAM responded to the scene and followed up with critical care counseling with the POAM Lifeline program and Frontline Strong.
