Police Week Michigan Update: Back the Badge

We’ve received an update from the Police Weekend Michigan about a new effort called Back the Badge. See below on how you can get involved with this organization.

Standing and Speaking Up

You are going to want to be part of this.

There’s more than enough negative news in the world. How about we make something good – no GREAT – happen?

We have launched a PRO-LAW ENFORCEMENT effort for Michigan, where citizens can start to stand up, speak up, and show up in support of the men and women who work to keep us safe.

I believe that the majority of Americans are supportive of the men and women behind the badge but now is the time to move our “support in our hearts” so our Law Enforcement can see, hear and feel it.

  • Sign up to say “YES! I’m with you to Back the Badge in Michigan!”
  • Look at our Idea Lists and grab something to do in your community for May 12 – 18, 2019, Police Week
  • Look around our website, find us on Facebook, and tell a friend

The time to sit on the sidelines as observers is over. Let’s DO something to bring goodwill back to our streets.

Will you join us?

Citizen Chair

Additional Information about Police Week Michigan

Police Week started back in 1962 in an effort by President John F. Kennedy. Our website highlights the history and includes his statement to Congress. Here’s a piece:

“To pay tribute to the law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country and to voice our appreciation for all those who currently serve on the front lines of the battle against crime, the Congress, by a joint resolution approved October 1, 1962…has authorized and requested the President to designate May 15 of each year as ‘Peace Officers Memorial Day,’ and the week in which it falls as ‘National Police Week.'”

We believe that we can do better
