Tecumseh Police Officer Position Opening
The City of Tecumseh Police Department is seeking qualified, motivated candidates for their Police Officer position. Under the direction of the Chief of Police, officers are responsible for enforcing local, state, and federal laws, protecting life and property, and serving the community with integrity and professionalism.
The work schedule includes 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Key Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect criminal activity
- Respond to calls for service, emergencies, and public assistance
- Conduct traffic enforcement and accident investigations
- Investigate crimes and gather evidence
- Prepare detailed reports and testify in court
- Engage with the community to promote public safety and positive relationships
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- U.S. citizen
- Associate’s Degree in criminal justice or related field, or equivalent experience
- MCOLES licensed or licensable at time of hire
- Valid Michigan driver’s license with a good driving record
- No felony convictions
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior law enforcement experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to community-oriented policing

- 7-Step pay increments, starting at $55,587 and up to $76,154
