The Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office is currently accepting applications and resumes for the position of a Road Patrol Deputy Sheriff assigned to Bois Blanc Island. This is a full-time/seasonal position that starts April 1st and ends December 31st. This position is best suited for an experienced LE individual capable of handling a wide variety of police situations independently.
Road Patrol Deputy Job Responsibilities
- Be expected to work a variety of shifts and varying hours in respective pay periods.
- Must be M.C.O.L.E.S. licensed or licensable at the date of hire.
- Be expected to pass psychological, physical, drug screening, and a background check.
Additional Information about the position
Starting pay rate (based on experience) $25.05 – $32.52 per hour.
- Housing or a housing stipend on the island for the employment period.
- Up to $1,000 travel expense account on/off the island.
- Office and pole barn for county equipment located on the island.
- Eligible for no-cost employer-provided health care after 60 days.
- Provided a patrol boat, patrol pickup, and a UTV as part of his/her patrol duties.
