Campus Police Officer Position Opening

Join the Macomb Community College (MCC) team, a nationally recognized institution that ranks in the top 2% for associate degrees granted. MCC is seeking a qualified applicant to fill its Campus Police Officer position.

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of College Police, shall be responsible for the service, safety, and security of all College properties, faculty, staff, students, guests, and visitors during the assigned tour of duty.

Responsibilities

  • Prevention and suppression of crime
  • Protection of life and property
  • Development, implementation, and supervision of assigned areas of public safety specialties
  • Preservation of the peace
  • Enforcement of state, local, and federal laws and College regulations
  • Apprehension and prosecution of offenders
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifying applicants must have two years of progressive law enforcement experience as a certified, sworn police officer.

The Police Officer, upon being hired, will be certified as a duly sworn Police Officer by the Michigan Commission of Law Enforcement Standards (MCOLES) under Senate bills 614 and 758, as adopted by the Michigan State Legislature in 1998, granting them/full law enforcement powers on the properties of Macomb Community College.

Education
  • High School graduate or equivalent and current M.C.O.L.E.S. certification or the ability to be certified prior to hire.

Wages & How to Apply
