POAM and DSAM worked closely to pass the 2003 Sheriff’s Coordinating and Training Council. This Council was to advance the training and professionalism of corrections officer.
Unfortunately, it appears the Michigan Sheriff’s Association is trying to hijack the Council and use funds as they were not intended by the legislature. DSAM has taken this matter directly to court. The following is information provided by DSAM. Additionally, POAM and DSAM are now in the process of seeking additional legislation to protect this fund.
