CAN-AM Police-Fire Games Open For Registration
Are you or someone you know a First Responder? The 2022 CAN-AM Police-Fire Games is happening, and we are welcoming all local EMS, Corrections, Border Services, Police, and Fire personnel to join and participate. Learn more about the games below.
What Is the Police-Fire Games?
The Can-Am Police-Fire Games’ mission is to promote physical fitness and camaraderie among and between law enforcement, fire, emergency, and protective service personnel and their agencies.
According to the Games’ history, the Can-Am Police-Fire Games started as the Northwest Police-Fire Games in 1977 when officials from two state police and fire games (Washington and Oregon) and a police-fire sports group from Western Canada formed an organization that organized and conducted a multi-sport event for police officers and firefighters on an annual basis. This continued until 1996.
Through aggressive marketing and tremendous interest from the law enforcement and fire fighting industry, the event grew so large that cities large enough to host the event were limited in northwestern U. S. and Western Canada. The group reorganized, renamed itself the Can-Am Police-Fire Games to better represent our athletes demographically.
To better reflect the broadened scope and nature of our eligible competitors the Can-Am Police-Fire Games Federation expanded its mission statement beyond that of police and fire services and included emergency responders and protective services. This demonstrates our commitment to including such agencies as Emergency Medical service providers; Homeland Security; Border Patrol, and Corrections officers to name a few.
Where and when are the 2022 CAN-AM Police-Fire Games Being Held?
The Games include six days of event competitions, being held Monday, July 25th through Sunday, July 31st in Windsor, Ontario.
What are the Sports Played?
The CAN-AM Police-Fire Games has 44 sports lined up for the c0mpetiton, including:
- Angling (Fishing)
- Basketball
- Bowling
- Cross County 5K & 10K
- Cycling
- Ice Hockey
- S.W.A.T.
- Texas Hold’Em

How Do I Register to Attend?
Registration is open now for the 2022 CAN-AM Police-Fire Games. Register early to get your name in for the games – participation is limited in some events. Also, see information about Games Eligibility, including who can participate and the first responders’ agencies specifically included.
