The Police Officers Association of Michigan invites you to attend the 2026 POAM Annual Convention at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel in Grand Rapids, MI, from Wednesday, May 20th, through Friday, May 22nd. We’re excited to host our fellow law enforcement community for professional networking, entertainment, and a great time. This post will include hotel booking information, the agenda itinerary, and imperative notifications.

Wednesday, May 20th
Training Seminar
- Time: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
- Registration at 12:30 p.m.
Poker Run
- Time: 8 p.m. – midnight
- Registration at 7:30 p.m.
- Cost: $25/person (pre-registered), or $50/door
Thursday, May 21st
Business Meeting
- Meeting Call to Order: Noon (12 p.m. to 3 p.m.)
- Registration: 11 a.m.
- Business attire requested
Roll Call Wrap Up
- Time: 7 p.m. – 1 a.m.
- Registration: 6:30 p.m.
- Cost: $60/person (pre-registered), or $80/door
- Live band – Brena
- Dinner
- Door prizes
Friday, May 22nd
Golf Tournament
- Shotgun start: 9 a.m.
- Cost: $75/person
- Cash prizes
- Call to register at (616) 363-1330, ext. 1
- Include your team’s name and golfer’s names. In the case of singles or twosomes, the course will coordinate and pair teams.

2026 POLICE OFFICER OF THE YEAR NOMINATIONS
Additionally, the 2026 POAM Officer of the Year Award nominations are open!
Each year, POAM honors police officers who courageously and dutifully handle less-than-ideal circumstances as part of their duty. During these situations, the true nature of a human comes to the surface. We believe bravery is required to act honorably and should be acknowledged and rewarded.
Nominations close on Friday, January 23rd at 5 p.m.
