Police Officer Survey

Written by in On the Job

My colleague, Dr. Michael Arter, and I are conducting a study examining stress in policing and we need police officer volunteers (all ranks and assignments) to complete our survey. As former police officers ourselves (I was with Peel Regional, in Ontario, Canada and my colleague worked in the USA), we appreciate the stress of police work and are interested in the effects it has on police officers, as well as ways to combat it. The survey is approved by the Pennsylvania State University Institutional Review Board, is anonymous, and should only take about 20 minutes to complete. Participation is completely voluntary. The survey is on-line and can be completed by going to:

I am e-mailing to ask for your assistance in distributing information about our survey to your members. The more officers who complete our survey, the more reliable the information collected will be, so we need all the volunteers we can get! Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated! Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions regarding our study.

Thank you in advance for considering this request.

Sincerely,

Dr. Kim S. Menard
PS. If you e-mail me, I would be happy to send a brochure with more information about our study.
